LP074 is an oral dissolving film (ODF) formulation of **avanafil**, a second-generation phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) inhibitor, developed by Xiamen LiZhuo Pharmaceutical for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED). The ODF technology is designed to allow the medication to dissolve rapidly in the mouth without the need for water, potentially offering a faster onset of action and improved patient convenience compared to traditional oral tablets. Avanafil works by inhibiting the PDE5 enzyme, which is responsible for the degradation of cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) in the corpus cavernosum; this inhibition leads to increased cGMP levels, resulting in smooth muscle relaxation and increased blood flow to the penis during sexual stimulation. LP074 is currently in Phase 1 clinical development in China, where it is being evaluated for its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetic profile.
