LPCN 2401 is Lipocine's investigational once-daily oral proprietary anabolic androgen receptor agonist comprising testosterone ester formulation(s). It is being developed to improve body composition in obesity management, including as an adjunct to incretin mimetics such as glucagon-like peptide 1 receptor agonists, with the goal of preserving or increasing lean mass while reducing fat mass. Lipocine describes the agent as a physiological regulator of myostatin that indirectly reduces myostatin expression and signaling through androgen receptor-mediated pathways. In a completed Phase 2 study in men with metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis and elevated BMI, LPCN 2401 improved lean-mass and fat-mass measures versus placebo.
