LPH-48

LPH-48 is a selective serotonin 5-HT2A receptor agonist and psychedelic hallucinogen under preclinical development by Lophora for the treatment of alcoholism and potentially other psychiatric disorders. It is a direct, shorter-acting analog of LPH-5, designed to have similar optimized characteristics—such as potency, selectivity, ligand efficiency, solubility, and safety profile—but with significantly faster metabolism and a much shorter duration of action. The compound belongs to a proprietary class of phenylpiperidines inspired by the 2C-X family of phenethylamines. Its mechanism centers on highly selective activation of the serotonin 5-HT2A receptor in the central nervous system. As of May 2024, its chemical structure has not been publicly disclosed[1][2][3][8].
