Overview

LPI-1503 is a novel dry powder inhalation formulation of ondansetron, a selective 5-HT3 receptor antagonist, being developed by Luxena Pharmaceuticals. It is designed for the prevention and treatment of postoperative nausea and vomiting (PONV), as well as chemotherapy-induced (CINV) and radiation-induced nausea and vomiting (RINV). By utilizing pulmonary delivery via a novel aerosol formulation, LPI-1503 aims to provide a faster onset of action and a non-invasive alternative to traditional intravenous or oral administration. The drug is delivered using a single-capsule inhaler (RS01), allowing for rapid systemic absorption through the lungs to block serotonin-mediated emetic signals.
