LPJT-026

LPJT-026 is a long-acting basal insulin analog developed by Lepu Jiantang Pharmaceutical (a subsidiary of Lepu Medical) for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It is designed for once-weekly subcutaneous administration, aiming to provide a more convenient dosing regimen than traditional once-daily basal insulins like insulin glargine. By binding to and activating the insulin receptor, LPJT-026 promotes glucose disposal in peripheral tissues and suppresses hepatic glucose production. The drug is currently in Phase I clinical development, with studies utilizing glucose clamp methodology to evaluate its safety, pharmacokinetics, and pharmacodynamics in comparison to insulin glargine and placebo.
