**LPMix vaccine** is an experimental intranasal lipopeptide-based mucosal vaccine candidate developed at the University of Alberta for prevention of coronavirus disease 2019. It comprises seven palmitoylated SARS-CoV-2 epitope lipopeptides, LP1 through LP7, derived from conserved functional regions of the viral spike, nucleocapsid, and membrane proteins. The self-assembling lipopeptides are intended to generate antigen-specific mucosal IgA, systemic IgM and IgG, and memory CD4-positive and CD8-positive T-cell responses. In mouse and hamster studies, LPMix induced cross-variant immune responses against Alpha, Beta, Delta, and Omicron SARS-CoV-2 variants; addition of heat-killed Caulobacter crescentus enhanced mucosal and durable immune responses.
