Overview

**LPPC-doxorubicin** is an investigational intravenous nanolipoplex formulation in which the anthracycline **doxorubicin** is encapsulated in a Lipo-PEG-PEI complex carrier. The LPPC carrier was designed to retain and slowly release doxorubicin, prolong systemic exposure, reduce clearance, and restrict apparent distribution relative to free doxorubicin in preclinical testing. Doxorubicin exerts antitumor activity principally through DNA intercalation and topoisomerase II inhibition, resulting in DNA damage and apoptosis. LPPC-doxorubicin was evaluated preclinically in HEC-1-A human endometrial cancer xenografts and showed antitumor activity; it is distinct from LPPC-Q7-DOX, which additionally contains the Q7 anticancer peptide.
