LPX-IO is a small molecule drug developed by LAPIX Therapeutics that acts as a dual inhibitor of TIM3 (Hepatitis A virus cellular receptor 2) and TIMD4 (T cell immunoglobulin and mucin domain containing 4). It is being investigated primarily for the treatment of neoplasms, including acute myeloid leukemia and melanoma. The mechanism involves antagonizing the immune-inhibitory effects mediated by TIM3/4 receptors, thereby restoring CD8 T cell functionality in the tumor microenvironment. This approach aims to enhance anti-tumor immunity by overcoming multi-checkpoint inhibition commonly seen in cancer[2][3][4]. As of June 2025, LPX-IO remains in preclinical development with no approved indications.
