Overview

LQ043H is an inhaled VHH nanobody (single-domain antibody) targeting thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP), developed by Novamab Biopharmaceuticals for the treatment of asthma. TSLP is an upstream epithelial-derived cytokine that plays a pivotal role in the inflammatory cascade of asthma, regardless of the underlying phenotype (Th2-high or Th2-low). By delivering the nanobody directly to the lungs via inhalation, LQ043H achieves high local concentrations to neutralize TSLP at the site of inflammation while minimizing systemic exposure and potential side effects. This modality leverages the small size and high stability of camelid-derived VHH fragments, which are well-suited for pulmonary delivery. LQ043H is currently in Phase 1 clinical development, making it one of the first inhaled TSLP-targeting biologics to reach human trials.
