LR19019

LR19019 is a small molecule, selective sphingosine-1-phosphate receptor 1 (S1P1) modulator being developed by LG Chem for the topical treatment of atopic dermatitis. Unlike oral S1P modulators used for systemic conditions like multiple sclerosis, LR19019 is formulated for topical administration to target skin inflammation directly while minimizing systemic exposure. The mechanism involves the modulation of S1P1 receptors on leukocytes, which prevents their infiltration into the skin and reduces the localized inflammatory response characteristic of atopic dermatitis. It is currently in Phase 1 clinical development to evaluate its safety, tolerability, and pharmacokinetics in healthy subjects and patients with atopic dermatitis.
