Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The LRP6 antibody is a therapeutic monoclonal antibody being developed by WntGen LLC, a biotechnology company incubated by Panorama Research, for the treatment of fibrotic diseases. LRP6 (Low-density lipoprotein receptor-related protein 6) is a vital co-receptor in the canonical Wnt/beta-catenin signaling pathway. Dysregulation and overactivation of this pathway are strongly associated with the pathogenesis of fibrosis in various organs, including the lungs, kidneys, and liver, by promoting the activation of fibroblasts into collagen-secreting myofibroblasts. By binding to and inhibiting LRP6, this antibody blocks the interaction between Wnt ligands and their receptor complex, thereby attenuating pro-fibrotic gene expression and disease progression. The program is currently in the preclinical stage of development.
