Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LS-001 is a long-acting injectable (LAI) analgesic developed by Lifescient for the control of pain associated with bone cancer in dogs. It represents a reformulation of a well-established medication, leveraging advanced drug delivery technology, specifically biodegradable polymer systems, to provide sustained drug release. This approach aims to replace the need for daily dosing, thereby enhancing prescription compliance and improving the quality of care for veterinary patients. The drug is currently an Investigational New Animal Drug (INAD) under the Minor Use and Minor Species (MUMS) Act, with the FDA accepting its INAD file in January 2024.
