Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LS-301 is a biologic ophthalmic solution containing recombinant human acidic fibroblast growth factor (rh-aFGF), also known as FGF1. Developed by the Guangdong Jida Gene Pharmaceutical Engineering Research Center in collaboration with Wenzhou Medical University, it is specifically formulated for the treatment of noninfectious corneal epithelial injury, particularly in patients suffering from dry eye disease. As a potent mitogen, rh-aFGF binds to and activates fibroblast growth factor receptors (FGFRs) on the ocular surface, triggering signaling cascades that promote the proliferation, migration, and differentiation of corneal epithelial cells and keratocytes. This mechanism accelerates the natural healing process of the cornea and helps restore the integrity of the ocular surface. LS-301 is currently undergoing Phase II clinical evaluation in China.
