LS-LBP-001 is a live biotherapeutic product (LBP) developed as an oral capsule for the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease, specifically mild to moderate active Crohn's disease. Developed by The Third Xiangya Hospital of Central South University, the therapy consists of live microorganisms intended to modulate the gut microbiota, reduce intestinal inflammation, and restore mucosal homeostasis. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials in combination with mesalazine to assess its safety, preliminary efficacy, and impact on the gut microbiome in patients with ileal and/or colonic involvement.
