Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LS-SM-002 is a preclinical-stage small molecule inhibitor targeting NOP2/Sun RNA methyltransferase family member 5 (NSUN5), developed by Shanghai Lishan Biopharmaceutical. NSUN5 is an RNA methyltransferase involved in ribosome biogenesis and translation regulation. By inhibiting NSUN5, LS-SM-002 aims to modulate ribosome biogenesis and translation, thereby disrupting the maintenance of tumor cell stemness and altering the tumor microenvironment. The compound was identified using Lishan's large-scale computational screening platform and is being developed for the treatment of liver cancer, primarily hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC).
