Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LSA3-Biofusion (DG729) is a next-generation pre-erythrocytic malaria vaccine candidate developed by Vac4All in collaboration with Sanofi. It is a protein subunit vaccine based on the Biofusion platform, specifically designed to target the Liver-Stage Antigen-3 (LSA3) of *Plasmodium falciparum*. The vaccine aims to prevent malaria by blocking the infection during the liver stage through interferon-gamma-associated immune activity, thereby preventing the parasite from entering the blood stage where clinical symptoms occur. Part of the STOPMAL program, LSA3-Biofusion is currently in the preclinical and IND-enabling phase, with plans to advance into Phase 1a and Phase 2a controlled human malaria infection (CHMI) trials.
