LSCD101 is an autologous cell therapy consisting of a cultured limbal epithelial cell sheet developed by G.CLIPS biotech. It is designed for the treatment of intractable limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD), a condition where the loss of stem cells at the edge of the cornea leads to corneal opacity and vision loss. The therapy involves harvesting a small biopsy of healthy limbal tissue from the patient's own eye, expanding the limbal stem cells in vitro to form a cohesive epithelial sheet, and then transplanting this sheet onto the damaged cornea to regenerate the ocular surface and restore visual function.
