Overview

LSCD102 is an autologous or allogeneic limbal stem cell therapy developed by CliPSBnC for the treatment of Limbal Stem Cell Deficiency (LSCD). LSCD is a condition characterized by the loss or deficiency of stem cells in the limbus, which are essential for the continuous renewal of the corneal epithelium. This deficiency leads to corneal conjunctivalization, vascularization, and scarring, resulting in significant vision loss and pain. LSCD102 aims to restore the corneal surface by replenishing the limbal stem cell population, thereby promoting corneal epithelial regeneration and improving visual transparency. The therapy typically involves the cultivation of limbal stem cells and their subsequent transplantation to the affected eye. As of the latest reports, the product is in the IND (Investigational New Drug) submission stage.
