Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LSI-208 is a liposomal reformulation of the cytotoxic chemotherapy agent docetaxel, developed by LipoSeuticals. Utilizing the company's proprietary Lipo-S platform, LSI-208 is designed to improve the therapeutic index of docetaxel by encapsulating the small molecule within a lipid-based nanoparticle. This formulation aims to enhance the drug's pharmacokinetic profile, increase its accumulation in tumor tissues through the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect, and mitigate systemic toxicities such as neutropenia and peripheral neuropathy that are commonly associated with conventional docetaxel administration. LSI-208 is administered via intravenous infusion and is being developed for the treatment of various solid tumors within the oncology space.
