LSPGBL is a preclinical-stage small molecule therapeutic being developed by Sathgen Therapeutics, a subsidiary of Godavari Biorefineries Ltd (GBL). The drug is part of the company's Lead Small molecule Program (LSP) and is designed to target cancer stem cells (CSCs), which are often resistant to conventional therapies and are primarily responsible for tumor recurrence and metastasis. LSPGBL is being evaluated for a broad range of oncological indications, including breast cancer, prostate cancer, oral cancer, glioblastoma (GBM), hepatic cancer, cervical cancer, colon cancer, and lung cancer. As of 2023, the program remains in the preclinical phase of development, with research focused on assessing its efficacy and safety across multiple solid tumor models.
