LT-1002 is a nebulized formulation of lecithinized superoxide dismutase (PC-SOD) being developed by LTT Bio-Pharma in collaboration with Chong Kun Dang (CKD). PC-SOD is a modified version of the antioxidant enzyme superoxide dismutase, where lecithin is covalently attached to improve tissue affinity and plasma stability. Administered via inhalation using a nebulizer, LT-1002 is designed to deliver the therapeutic enzyme directly to the lungs to scavenge reactive oxygen species (ROS), specifically superoxide radicals. This mechanism aims to reduce oxidative stress and inflammation, which are central to the pathogenesis of Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis (IPF) and Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). The drug is currently in Phase 2 clinical development for these respiratory indications.
