Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LT-2001 (also known as AS-013) is a drug delivery system (DDS) formulation of ecraprost, a synthetic prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) prodrug, developed by LTT Bio-Pharma in partnership with Beijing Tide. It is currently in Phase 2/3 clinical development for the treatment of peripheral arterial disease (PAD). The drug utilizes LTT Bio-Pharma's proprietary lipid microsphere technology to encapsulate the active ingredient, which acts as a potent vasodilator and inhibitor of platelet aggregation by agonizing prostaglandin E receptors. This DDS approach is designed to improve the stability of the prostaglandin derivative and enhance its delivery to affected vascular tissues, potentially offering improved efficacy and a better safety profile compared to non-encapsulated PGE1 formulations.
