Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LT-4002 is a drug repositioning candidate being developed by LTT Bio-Pharma for the treatment of dry eye syndrome. It is an ophthalmic formulation of diclofenac sodium, a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). The drug is designed to address dry eye pathology by suppressing apoptosis in corneal and conjunctival cells triggered by high osmotic pressure in tears. By leveraging the established safety profile of diclofenac in a new ocular indication, LT-4002 aims to provide a novel therapeutic option for patients with dry eye. It has progressed to Phase 3 clinical development.
