Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LTD-23 is a preclinical-stage near-infrared (NIR) fluorescent imaging agent being developed by Xentria for applications in oncology. The agent consists of a targeting ligand conjugated to a fluorescent NIR dye, designed to specifically bind to proteins that are overexpressed on the surface of cancer cells. This targeted approach allows for the selective accumulation of the fluorescent dye within tumor tissues, facilitating real-time visualization during surgical procedures or diagnostic imaging. By operating in the near-infrared spectrum, LTD-23 offers advantages such as deeper tissue penetration and reduced background autofluorescence compared to visible light fluorophores, which may improve the precision of tumor margin detection and the identification of metastatic lesions.
