Overview

LTG-001 is an oral, investigational small molecule that acts as a highly selective inhibitor of Nav1.8 (sodium channel protein type 8 subunit alpha), a key sodium channel involved in pain signaling. By blocking Nav1.8 on peripheral sensory neurons, LTG-001 prevents the transmission of pain signals to the central nervous system and may provide effective non-opioid pain relief for acute and chronic pain conditions. The drug is being developed by Latigo Biotherapeutics and has received FDA Fast Track designation for the treatment of acute pain. Phase 1 clinical trials demonstrated that LTG-001 was well tolerated with rapid absorption (Tmax ~1.5 hours) and predictable pharmacokinetics[1][2][4][6].
