Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LTG-002 is an orally available small molecule inhibitor of the voltage-gated sodium channel Nav1.8 (SCN10A), currently in Phase 1 clinical development by Latigo Biotherapeutics for the treatment of pain. Nav1.8 is a sodium channel subtype selectively expressed in peripheral nociceptors, where it plays a key role in the initiation and propagation of action potentials in response to painful stimuli. By specifically targeting Nav1.8, LTG-002 is designed to provide potent pain relief without the central nervous system side effects or addiction potential associated with opioids and non-selective sodium channel blockers.
