Overview

LTSE-2578 is an orally available small molecule antagonist of the lysophosphatidic acid receptor 1 (LPA1R), also known as lysophosphatidic acid receptor Edg-2. It is being developed primarily for the treatment of idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF). The drug acts by blocking the activity of LPA1R, a G protein-coupled receptor implicated in fibrotic processes within lung tissue. Preclinical studies have demonstrated substantial anti-fibrotic activity in mouse models of fibrotic lung disease. LTSE-2578 is currently in Phase 1 clinical trials to assess its safety and tolerability in humans[1][2][4][5][6].
