Overview

LTX-008 is an orally bioavailable small molecule inhibitor of serine palmitoyltransferase (SPT) currently under development by Leal Therapeutics. SPT serves as the rate-limiting enzyme in the de novo synthesis of sphingolipids. The therapeutic rationale for LTX-008 is based on reducing the production of excessive peripheral sphingolipids, which are associated with metabolic dysfunction. The program is currently in the IND-enabling/candidate selection stage, targeting indications such as obesity and metabolic syndrome.
