LTX-568

LTX-568 is a first-in-class small molecule antagonist of the serotonin type 7 receptor (5-HT7R) being developed by Lyntonix Biotech. It is specifically designed to treat visceral pain hypersensitivity associated with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and chronic abdominal pain. The drug exhibits high potency with a Ki value of less than 10nM and demonstrates over 100-fold selectivity against more than 160 other protein receptors. LTX-568 is characterized by its peripheral tissue selectivity and high water solubility (>10mg/mL), aiming to reduce visceral pain without significant central nervous system side effects. As of early 2024, it is in the preclinical stage, with IND-enabling GLP studies planned for 2025 and IND submissions to the US and Taiwan expected in 2026.
