Overview

Lu-177-PP13D3 is a targeted radiotherapeutic (TRT) being developed by Molecular Targeting Technologies (MTTI) for the treatment of neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). It consists of a peptide ligand, PP13D3, which specifically binds to the cholecystokinin-2 receptor (CCK2R), conjugated to the beta-emitting radioisotope Lutetium-177. CCK2R is frequently overexpressed in certain types of NETs, such as medullary thyroid carcinoma and gastroenteropancreatic neuroendocrine tumors. Upon binding and internalization, the Lutetium-177 delivers localized ionizing radiation, causing DNA damage and subsequent apoptosis in the target tumor cells while sparing surrounding healthy tissue. The drug is currently in Phase 1/2 clinical trials as a peptide receptor radionuclide therapy (PRRT).
