Lu-177-Therahexin-503 is a radioligand therapeutic consisting of the beta-emitting radioisotope Lutetium-177 conjugated to Therahexin-503, a peptide-based ligand targeting the "cancer integrin" αvβ6. This integrin is highly expressed in various carcinomas, including breast cancer and pancreatic ductal adenocarcinoma, while showing low expression in healthy tissues. Developed by TRIMT GmbH, the drug is designed for targeted radioligand therapy (RLT), delivering ionizing radiation directly to tumor cells to induce DNA damage and cell death. It has demonstrated high tumor uptake and favorable dosimetry in early clinical case studies for metastatic breast cancer and pancreatic cancer.
