Overview

Lu AF88434 is a novel small molecule inhibitor of phosphodiesterase type 1, specifically targeting the PDE1B subtype, which is naturally present in the human brain. It was developed by Lundbeck for potential use in neuropsychiatric disorders, particularly for treating disordered thinking associated with conditions such as schizophrenia and mild cognitive impairment. The drug has been studied using PET imaging to assess its uptake and distribution in the brain of healthy volunteers. Development for mild cognitive impairment has been discontinued.
