Overview

Lu AG09222 is an investigational humanized monoclonal antibody developed for the prevention of migraine. It targets and binds with high affinity to pituitary adenylate cyclase-activating polypeptide (PACAP), a neuropeptide implicated in migraine pathophysiology, thereby inhibiting PACAP from activating its receptors and preventing PACAP-induced arterial dilation. This mechanism is distinct from calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP) inhibitors currently used in migraine therapy. Lu AG09222 has shown efficacy in reducing monthly migraine days in clinical trials and is being evaluated as a potential first-in-class therapy for patients who have not responded to other preventive treatments. The drug was originally developed by Alder Biopharmaceuticals and is now being advanced by Lundbeck[2][4][5][7].
