Overview
Lu Dangshen Oral Liquid is a traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) formulated from Lu Dangshen (the dried root of *Codonopsis pilosula* grown in the Shangdang region of Shanxi Province, China). Developed and manufactured by Shanxi Zhenglai Pharmaceutical, it is approved in China for replenishing middle qi, invigorating the spleen, and benefiting the lung. It is clinically used to treat symptoms of spleen and lung qi deficiency, such as fatigue, shortness of breath, cough, and poor appetite. The oral liquid is also being evaluated in clinical trials for the treatment of stable chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), COVID-19, and tumor-related anemia, where it is thought to exert immunomodulatory, anti-inflammatory, and antioxidant effects.
