Overview
Lu Hong Granule is a Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) compound developed by Shuguang Hospital, affiliated with the Shanghai University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, for the treatment of chronic heart failure (CHF) and coronary artery disease (CAD). The formula is a combination of *Cornu Cervi Pantotrichum* (Deer Antler Velvet) and *Rhodiola rosea* (or *Rhodiola wallichiana*), designed to "tonify Yang and replenish Qi" according to TCM principles. Clinically, it is used as an integrative therapy alongside standard Western medical treatments to improve left ventricular systolic function and inhibit myocardial fibrosis. Research indicates that Lu Hong Granule may exert its therapeutic effects by modulating the TGF-β1/Smad signaling pathway, thereby reducing extracellular matrix deposition and improving cardiac remodeling.
