Overview

LUCAR-G79 T cells are an investigational **chimeric antigen receptor (CAR)-T cell therapy** being developed for the treatment of relapsed or refractory autoimmune diseases. This therapy involves genetic modification of a patient's own T cells to express a chimeric antigen receptor targeting disease-driving elements in autoimmune conditions. After leukapheresis and lymphodepleting chemotherapy, patients receive a single infusion of LUCAR-G79. The therapy is under clinical evaluation in conditions such as systemic lupus erythematosus, systemic sclerosis, ANCA-associated vasculitis, idiopathic inflammatory myopathy, Takayasu arteritis, and IgG4-related disease. The main goals are to assess safety, pharmacokinetics, and efficacy in patients who have failed conventional therapies, with the potential to reset the malfunctioning immune system and provide long-term remission[1][3][6].
