LUCAT1 siRNA is a small interfering RNA designed to silence the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) LUCAT1 (Lung Cancer Associated Transcript 1). In the context of head and neck cancer (HNC), LUCAT1 is upregulated by areca nut components, such as arecoline, via STAT1 activation. Silencing LUCAT1 with siRNA has been shown to inhibit cell invasion by modulating epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT) and to reverse chemo-radiotherapy resistance by regulating reactive oxygen species (ROS) scavenging and autophagy. It is primarily used as a research tool to investigate the oncogenic roles of LUCAT1 in various cancers, including HNC and lung cancer.
