Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LucenBS is an ophthalmic biosimilar product referencing ranibizumab (Lucentis), an anti‑VEGF biologic used to treat neovascular (wet) age‑related macular degeneration, diabetic macular edema, macular edema following retinal vein occlusion, and other choroidal neovascular conditions. Ranibizumab is a recombinant humanized IgG1 kappa monoclonal antibody fragment that binds vascular endothelial growth factor A (VEGF‑A), preventing its interaction with VEGF receptors VEGFR1 and VEGFR2 on endothelial cells, thereby inhibiting pathological angiogenesis, vascular leakage, and macular edema in the retina.[1][3][7]
