Overview

Lucicebtide is a first-in-class synthetic peptide antagonist of the transcription factor CCAAT/enhancer-binding protein beta (C/EBPβ). It is designed to block the activity of C/EBPβ, a protein that regulates gene expression involved in cancer cell survival and immune evasion. By inhibiting C/EBPβ, lucicebtide aims to suppress tumor-promoting signals and enhance anti-tumor immune responses. The drug has demonstrated the ability to cross the blood-brain barrier and achieve target engagement within tumors. Lucicebtide is being developed primarily for oncology indications including glioblastoma (GBM), breast cancer, prostate cancer, melanoma, gastrointestinal tract cancers, acute myeloid leukemia (AML), and other solid tumors. It has received Orphan Drug designation for glioma and AML as well as Fast Track designation for recurrent GBM[1][3][4][5][6][7][8][9].
