Ludotadipep (also known as [177Lu]Ludotadipep or FC705) is a novel radiopharmaceutical developed by FutureChem for the treatment of metastatic castration-resistant prostate cancer (mCRPC). It consists of a prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA)-targeting ligand labeled with the beta-emitting radioisotope lutetium-177. A distinguishing feature of Ludotadipep is the incorporation of a 4-iodophenyl butanoic group, which acts as an albumin-binding motif. This modification extends the drug's circulation time in the blood, thereby enhancing its uptake and retention within prostate tumor cells compared to first-generation PSMA-targeted radioligands. By binding to PSMA on the surface of cancer cells, the agent delivers targeted radiation, leading to DNA damage and cell death. It is currently being evaluated in Phase 2 clinical trials for safety and efficacy in patients with mCRPC.
