Drug intelligence / Profile preview
This represents a drug interaction scenario rather than a single formulated product. When artemether-lumefantrine (antimalarial) is co-administered with lopinavir/ritonavir (HIV treatment), significant pharmacokinetic interactions occur. Lopinavir/ritonavir inhibits CYP3A4 enzymes, resulting in substantially increased lumefantrine exposure (5-10 fold) while decreasing artemether exposure. This interaction is clinically relevant for HIV patients requiring malaria treatment.
