Drug intelligence / Profile preview
Luminespib is a third-generation heat shock protein 90 (Hsp90) inhibitor with potential antineoplastic activity. It binds with high affinity to Hsp90, leading to the proteasomal degradation of oncogenic client proteins, inhibition of cell proliferation, and elevation of heat shock protein 72 (Hsp72) in various human tumor cell lines. Developed through a collaboration between The Institute of Cancer Research and Vernalis, it was licensed to Novartis.
