Drug intelligence / Profile preview
The bovine lumpy skin disease vaccine developed by Shen Lian Biotech is an inactivated vaccine designed for the prevention of Lumpy Skin Disease (LSD) in cattle. It utilizes an inactivated goatpox virus strain (SGP-01) which provides cross-protective immunity against the Lumpy Skin Disease Virus (LSDV), a closely related capripoxvirus. By inducing a robust immune response, the vaccine protects cattle from the fever and skin nodules characteristic of LSD. It was the first inactivated vaccine for this indication to receive approval in China, offering a safe alternative to live-attenuated vaccines in the management of LSD outbreaks. The vaccine is administered via intramuscular injection and is intended to enhance livestock biosecurity in regions where LSD is endemic or emerging.
