Overview

Lunsekimig is a novel, bispecific NANOBODY® molecule developed by Sanofi that targets and inhibits both thymic stromal lymphopoietin (TSLP) and interleukin 13 (IL‑13), two key mediators involved in the pathophysiology of asthma and other type 2 inflammatory diseases. Unlike conventional monoclonal antibodies, lunsekimig is a single-domain antibody ("nanobody") with high stability and affinity, designed to bind two epitopes each on IL‑13 and TSLP as well as human serum albumin for half-life extension. By simultaneously blocking TSLP—which initiates allergic inflammation—and IL‑13—which drives airway and skin changes—lunsekimig aims to provide broader anti-inflammatory effects than targeting either cytokine alone. It is currently being investigated in Phase 2 clinical trials for moderate-to-severe asthma, atopic dermatitis, and chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps[1][3][4][6].
