Drug intelligence / Profile preview
LusiNEX is a biosimilar of tocilizumab, which is a recombinant humanized monoclonal antibody targeting the interleukin-6 receptor (IL-6R). By blocking both soluble and membrane-bound IL-6 receptors, LusiNEX inhibits IL-6-mediated pro-inflammatory signaling involved in numerous autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. Developed originally by Mycenax Biotech, it demonstrates bioequivalence to originator tocilizumab products Actemra (US) and RoActemra (EU), with indications for rheumatoid arthritis and potential for other immunologic and inflammatory diseases. It is being positioned as a more affordable alternative to the originator drug for global markets[2][3][4][5][7][9].
