Lutetium (177Lu) FAP-75 is a targeted radiopharmaceutical designed for the treatment of advanced solid tumors. Developed by Fudan University, this agent utilizes the beta-emitting radioisotope Lutetium-177 conjugated to a ligand (FAP-75) that specifically targets Fibroblast Activation Protein (FAP). FAP is highly expressed on cancer-associated fibroblasts within the tumor microenvironment of many solid tumors, while being minimally present in healthy tissues. Upon binding to FAP, the Lutetium-177 delivers localized radiation, inducing DNA damage and subsequent apoptosis in tumor cells, thereby minimizing damage to surrounding healthy tissues.
