Overview

Lutetium (177Lu) lu-xt117 is a radiopharmaceutical drug composed of the radioactive isotope lutetium-177 conjugated to a targeting moiety that binds specifically to fibroblast activation protein (FAP), which is overexpressed in cancer-associated fibroblasts within the tumor microenvironment. It is under investigation for the treatment of FAP-positive advanced solid tumors. The compound delivers targeted radiation to tumor stroma by binding to FAP, resulting in localized radiotherapeutic effects that may inhibit tumor progression. Its mechanism involves FAP antagonism and targeted radioligand therapy. The drug is in early clinical development, with ongoing phase 1 clinical trials.
