Lutetium-177 rhPSMA-10.1 is a next-generation radiohybrid (rh) PSMA-targeted radioligand therapy being developed by Blue Earth Therapeutics for the treatment of metastatic prostate cancer. The "radiohybrid" technology allows the same molecule to be labeled with either diagnostic (e.g., Fluorine-18) or therapeutic (e.g., Lutetium-177) radioisotopes, facilitating a precise theranostic approach. The drug consists of a small-molecule ligand that binds with high affinity to the Prostate-Specific Membrane Antigen (PSMA) expressed on prostate cancer cells, delivering the beta-emitting radioisotope Lutetium-177 directly to the tumor site to induce DNA damage and cell death. It is currently being evaluated in clinical trials to compare its dosimetry and efficacy against established PSMA-targeted therapies like Pluvicto.
