LV-BTG2 is a lentiviral vector engineered to deliver and overexpress the B-cell translocation gene 2 (BTG2) protein. BTG2 is a member of the BTG/Tob family of antiproliferative proteins and functions as a tumor suppressor by regulating cell cycle progression, particularly the G1/S transition, and promoting apoptosis. In preclinical models of pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD), LV-BTG2 is utilized to counteract the downregulation of BTG2 mediated by oncogenic factors such as miR-21-5p. The overexpression of BTG2 via this vector has been demonstrated to inhibit tumor cell proliferation and invasion, while significantly enhancing the sensitivity of cancer cells to gemcitabine treatment.
