Overview

LV-DSCR9 is a lentiviral expression vector designed to overexpress the long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) DSCR9. In the context of pancreatic adenocarcinoma (PAAD), DSCR9 functions as a tumor suppressor by acting as a molecular sponge for microRNA-21-5p (miR-21-5p). By sequestering miR-21-5p, LV-DSCR9 relieves the miR-21-5p-mediated inhibition of BTG2 (B-cell translocation gene 2), a known tumor suppressor. This DSCR9/miR-21-5p/BTG2 signaling axis leads to reduced cancer cell proliferation, decreased invasion, and increased sensitivity to gemcitabine treatment. It is primarily used in preclinical research to investigate mechanisms of gemcitabine resistance in pancreatic cancer.
